THE POWER OF PRAYER
by Dr. Gregg Zackary
Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you; I will help you;
I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10 (HCSB)
At a recent staff meeting in Marshall, our worship leader, Laney Wootten, shared how she was making a call regarding some work to be done at her house. When looking up the phone number, she felt impressed to call another business that was advertising the same service. Although this went against what she had planned, Laney obeyed the leading of the Holy Spirit and made the call. When she introduced herself, the lady who answered asked, “Oh, are you the lady who sings at the Feminar events?” Laney confirmed that she was and realized this was why she felt impressed to call.
After struggling with her own awkwardness, Laney obeyed the prompting of the Holy Spirit again and asked if she could pray for the woman, who immediately agreed and then told of the struggle her husband was having with a skin disease that caused him terrible pain. Two weeks later, a couple introduced themselves to Laney after the morning service in Marshall. It was the very woman and her husband Laney had prayed for over the phone. As you seek God in prayer, expect Him to give you divine appointments to connect with people and households in need.
Prayer: Lord, there is such power in prayer. May my mission today be to seek you in Spirit-empowered prayer so that Your will can be done in my life. Give me a divine appointment today with someone who needs to know You.
“Simply defined, prayer is earthly permission for heavenly interference.” -Tony Evans
