Sacrificial Commitment
by Geoffrey Davis

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of Me will save it.  Luke 9:24 (HCSB)

Chances are you woke up today thinking of yourself. Your schedule, performance, clothes, hair, food, how people will treat you and if your kids, spouse or friends will appreciate you. These are factors toward what will ultimately make today good or bad for you.

If we are honest, you and I spend most days doing our best to make each day a good one. For some reason, our culture is fixated on this.

Have a good day!

How’s it going today?

How was your day?

This day, however, Jesus has a different wake up call for you. Jesus is calling you to something different, unique, fulfilling, eternal, bigger than you and yes — GOOD. Jesus is calling you to make a choice about what your life is about and who is really in charge.

What if you started and finished your day living out the truth that Jesus is Lord of the universe and Lord of your life? What would happen if you redefined what made your day good? What if you evaluated your day based on how you led people toward Jesus instead of how people treated you?

Answer Jesus’ call today. Sacrifice yourself to build His Kingdom.

Prayer: Lord, You alone can gird me with strength and make my way blameless. Today, set me on a high place not so I “look down” on others, but so that I see them as You see them – lost and without hope. Help me be a lifeline to someone today who needs to know You.

“The Lord intends us to be powerful people-mighty in optimism and hopeful of spirit, powerful in evangelistic zeal, potent in influence, sturdy in moral fiber and purity. We can be powerhouses in prayer and preaching.” -David Jeremiah

Engage10K Prayer: Pray for our Mobberly family as each one of us considers the financial gift we should make to the Engage10K campaign.
