PUTTING ASIDE ANXIETY
by Marian Hare
Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. – Philippians 4:6 (HCSB)
Anxiety is defined as a painful or apprehensive uneasiness of mind as well as a solicitous concern or interest. Today, let us seek God, requesting Him to remove our anxieties. Satan wants to drive us compulsively, but God wants to draw us compassionately. Satan wants to take advantage of our compulsion. God wants to draw us in toward Himself, giving us peace. Be still in His presence. Invite Him to control your thoughts and let His light soak into your mind and heart. “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7, NLT)
Prayer: Lord, I know that the key to peace is recognizing Your authority on this earth. This is Your earth and You made it. Nothing here happens without You knowing about it. Redirect my heart and mind to trust You with all that is taking place in my life.
“Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden.” – Corrie ten Boom
Engage10K Prayer: Pray that we will not worry about obediently doing and giving what God asks of us for we can know with confidence that where God guides, He always provides.
