ENGAGING WITH FAMILY
by Joni Bailey
Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on the rock. – Matthew 7:24-25 (HCSB)
Joshua 24:15 says, “…As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (NASB) This was not just a Scripture that looked good framed and put on the wall, but instead, for my husband and me, it was the way our parents chose to live and raise a family.
Naturally, we planned to raise our family with the same spiritual foundation that was modeled for us as we were growing up. Easy, right? Not so much. We learned that trusting God to lead and guide our family only happened when we chose to follow Him day-by-day. We haven’t always done things God’s way, and we haven’t lived a life without trials and frustrations, but we do have a Savoir that walks with us each step of the way. As we watched our children come to know Christ’s saving grace at an early age, we couldn’t be more thankful for God’s love and the rich heritage given to us by our parents.
With the blessing of grandchildren, we are excited to watch how God will lead our children as they seek to raise the next generation of new believers.
Prayer: Lord, let me leave a legacy of Your goodness and grace for future generations. May my life be lived for You alone. I ask that all who are in my family today and in future generations come to salvation in Christ.
“The same Jesus who turned water into wine can transform your home, your life, your family and your future. He is still in the miracle-working business, and His business is the business of transformation.” – Adrian Rogers
Engage10K Request: Pray for the people of Mobberly to be open to the leadership of God through the sermon today.
