PRAYING FOR BELIEVERS

Sacrificial Commitment
by Jimmy Willett

For God, whom I serve with my spirit in telling the good news about His Son, is my witness that I constantly mention you, always asking in my prayers that if it is somehow in God’s will, I may now at last succeed in coming to you. – Romans 1:9-10 (HCSB)

When I had a big task at hand, my grandmother would tell me, “Put your whole heart into it!” It was a reminder I was to give my full attention to the matter. This is a lesson that has served me well all my years. In this passage of Scripture, we see Paul has put his “whole heart” into preaching the Gospel. This mindset gave him the desire to pray for his fellow believers. We, too, must wholeheartedly pray for one another. Through our prayers, God will guide our steps, not to reach the next 10,000, but just the next one. Those “ones” will eventually add up to that 10,000 number. How blessed we will be when we realize we only need to share our faith with the person God has placed right in front of us each day. How many can we share our faith with over the next three years? The potential is unbelievable. We just need to live life with one word in mind…NEXT!

Prayer: Lord, I lift up my brothers and sisters in Christ today. I ask that each of them will leave behind the footprints of Your presence wherever they go. May they seize the opportunity to have spiritual conversations with all they encounter today.

“The question is not, nor has it ever been, whether God is willing to move in the hearts of His people; the issue is whether we are willing to surrender in full obedience to Him so that we may begin to enjoy the enormous blessings He invites us to enjoy by living in His presence.” – Ronnie Floyd

Engage10K Request: Pray families will make strong commitments to Engage 10,000 households and catch the vision.
